A 26-year-old dry cleaner, Richard Akanbi, was on Wednesday docked in a Kaduna Magistrates’ Court for allegedly selling his customer’s clothes worth N560,000.

Akanbi is charged with breach of trust, an offence he pleaded not guilty to.

The prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 14, at Maraba Rido Kaduna.

Leo stated that the complainant, Linda Gabriel, entrusted 18 clothes valued at N560,000 to Akanbi for washing but instead, he dishonestly sold the clothes and converted the money for his personal use.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned until August 21 for hearing. (NAN)
