Speaking at the event, Otunba Sanya Ogunkuade, director programme management, lamented the failure in projects and programmes delivery in some establishments due to lack of monitoring and evaluation.
He said such action has negative consequences on the continent’s development efforts, adding that with the imminent commencement of monitoring and evaluation of projects/programmes funded from the Nigerian Technical Cooperation Fund (NTCF) as well as DTCA’s mandate, it had become expedient to equip the participants with requisite skills to carry out monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects and programmes of NTCF and others.
The director said the main objective of NTCF is to promote African solidarity, regional integration, technological advancement as well as economic independence through increased capacity building and institutional support initiatives in the developmental efforts for benefits of the bank’s regional member countries.
