The Chairman, Dutch’s Health Insurance Fund, Mr. Kees Storm, has said the Dutch government will support Kwara State government with $1.5 million for health insurance.
Speaking while signing a memorandum of understanding with the Kwara State government, he said that the Kwara State Health Insurance Fund would pool resources from the state government, federal government, communities, development partners and private sector to ensure a successful future of the programme.
“The state would be supported with 1.5 million dollars if it meets the conditions for Health Insurance Fund grant. The Health Insurance Fund and Hygeia would focus on technical assistance for the implementation of the programme in January, next year,” he said.
He commended the state government for the success of Community Health Insurance Scheme since the year 2007 and called on other states to emulate Kwara State Health Insurance model in order to improve access to health care in Nigeria.
