This was disclosed yesterday by the image maker of the emirate, Gambo Garba in Dutse the state capital, saying the distribution of Zakkat always injects a sense of belonging to the poor.
According to him, two districts from the emirate were chosen for this year’s zakkat after meeting the prerequisites for benefiting from such as stated under the Islamic law.
He said: “The Emir distributes Zakkat of grains worth N2, 476, 680 to 1,763 less privileged persons in two district councils of the emirate.
The grains were distributed to deserving families in Amaryawa and Achilafiya communities.
“The Emir commended individuals who give out alms in support of the needy. He urged the well to do in the society to always support the most vulnerable in order to reduce the level of poverty among the poor.” He stated.
Garba further stated that the Emir had also called on the people in his emirate to tolerate each other with a view to improve on the relative peace being enjoyed.
