Fourteen students of Federal University, Dutse, will start an undergraduate programme in basic education.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatima Muktar, made this known on Tuesday ahead of the university’s convocation slated for June, 22. She said 14 graduands have obtained first class degrees.

She said a total of 558 students would be graduating, including, 222 who obtained second class, upper division, another 222 got second class lower division and 70 others that got third class degrees.

She said plan was also on for the establishment of a Faculty of Education, adding that the university had intended to introduce a degree programme on basic education to address the problem of teacher shortage.
