The e-force entertainment company is a distribution platform which provides easy access to entertainment and creative works like audio CD, DVD, Nollywood Movies in DVD, Decoders, tickets to events and books to consumers across the country while stifling the efforts of pirates.
E-force Entertainment launched its physical distribution system and has signed up 20,000 outlets nationwide and 25,000 mobile sales force team and 500 activation team members to take stocks to high human traffic points. It will add to its portfolio of products entertainment related merchandises to people that requires good quality content.
The Managing Director, e-force entertainment, Mr Shola Fajobi told journalists in Lagos that in tackling piracy, the service aims to do two things other systems don’t: provide price and convenience.
Firstly, it aims to get product into outlets rapidly on a national basis rather than waiting for the ripple effect of the marketers taking product back. This rapid availability of product will make it much harder for pirates to succeed. Secondly, it aims to provide quality product at the same price point as the pirates.
He said the major challenge facing the creative industry in Nigeria is an effective distribution model which allows consumers to have access to the original works of artistes in the industry within the release week.
He said the major objective of the company is to ensure that the vacuum in the distribution channel is filled to deliver quality content to people at their touch-points at the best rate and thereby gradually reduce the motivation for pirates.
He added that it will be a long road but two things are putting pressure on piracy, firstly, the kind of physical distribution has only half-succeeded for retailers and the rights holders to see that there is a better way. The key will be whether the promises about accountability on sales information is kept as the network of outlets grow larger. Secondly, the arrival of online platforms makes it easier to get product directly to potential buyers at a competitive price and in a convenient form.
The launch according to the management will ensure that investors have confidence in investing in the entertainment industry to help improve the economic standard of the country and help curb the logistical challenges faced by movie maker to track sales figures of produced movies to the targeted audience using relevant media touch points.
