E63 AMG: Stealthy but yet to be seen

Richard Hammond of Top Gear tested one and even compared it with a Chevy Camaro SS. I’m talking about the E 63 AMG. He talked about the AMG being twice than the Camaro SS, both in performance and in price. The AMG is good. In fact, it is magnificent but what becomes truly annoying is the electronic gismo arrayed in the cockpit- almost similar to the M5. its still better than the M5 in city driving because its smoother according to Piers Ward of Top Gear.
The new AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine in the new E 63 AMG develops a power output of 525 hp (385kW) and a torque figure of 630 Nm, matching the outstanding figures for the SL 63 AMG. The high-performance Roadster has also donated its AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission to the new model. It dispenses with a conventional torque converter and uses a compact, wet start-up clutch. In conjunction with the four individual driving modes, the throttle-blipping and RACE START functions, the resulting, direct connection to the power train allows an extremely emotional and highly dynamic driving experience.
When Jason Plato from Fifth Gear compared it with the Audi RS6, he preferred the AMG because the RS6 lacked nimbleness. It often felt heavy while the AMG felt hard and could easily be maneuvered any direction. This is a good thing with premium sport cars.
But here is my own opinion; I think the E63 AMG is worth paying for because you don’t have to service what you have not used. Your servicing cost depend on how you use it. The AMG l drives better than the RS6 and M5. It is good at being the comfortable executive saloon car and great at being the sports car you want- something the M5 couldn’t do well. In facts it is one of the cars in our Sunday Trust Motoring List we hope to see in the up coming Motor Fair in Lagos. Lets hope we’ll one day drive it.
