The team under the tutelage of another former international Dan Amokachie had come under heavy criticism following its inability to qualify for the 2011 African Nations Championship to be hosted by Ivory Coast.

However, the team’s sterling performance last Friday in the WAFU Championship has done a lot to restore the battered image of the players and that of members of the coaching crew.

Speaking to Trustsports moments after the 4-0 thriller, Agu said the best of the team is yet to come as he said the players have since overcome the set back in the CHAN qualifiers and were ready to go all the way in the present assignment.

He said few changes have been made in the team to bring it to its present strength as demonstrated against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.

The coach said: “The team is getting better by the day because the players have been kept together. We have made few changes and this explains why the team is now stronger”.
