Romania is a country in fast decline as they have failed to qualify for the World Cup since 2002.
Incidentally, their finest moment at the World Cup was at the 1994 tournament when they eliminated Argentina to reach the quarterfinals.
They lost out in European playoffs for the 2014 World Cup.
However, the Argentina Football Association (AFA) is yet to confirm two other test games reported by the local press.
Media reports have suggested that Argentina will also play against a yet-to-be-named opponent on June 4 in Rosario and three days later against Slovenia in Buenos Aires.
Argentina will train at home for the World Cup in neighbouring Brazil.
The two-time world champions are drawn in Group F at the 2014 World Cup along with Nigeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran.
They face Nigeria on June 25.
