2026 World Cup ticket chasing Super Eagles arrived in Bloemfontein yesterday for tomorrow’s win-or-bust match against arch rivals Bafana Bafana of South Africa without one of their best legs, Victor Osimhen, who was injured in Saturday’s clash with the Amavubis of Rwanda.

According to the Team Doctor, the former African Footballer of the Year had suffered a bruise on his shin.

Therefore, the influential striker who rejoined the team after missing out of the Unity Cup in London and the international friendly with Russia in May, is ruled out of the must-win match against South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reported that the team arrived in South Africa to warm welcome from the teeming Nigerian population in the Southern African country.

The football federation said members of the Nigeria community in South Africa, propelled by their president, Mr. Smart Nwobi, turned out in impressive numbers in Nigerian traditional attire, dancing, singing and drumming.

The delegation was led by President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and included the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, some NFF Executive Committee members, NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, former Nigeria captains Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba, a couple of NFF Management and Staff, a couple of stakeholders and a few media representatives.

There were 22 players and the technical and administrative staff, with forward Victor Osimhen the only absentee from the ensemble that was invited.
