Speaking with Trustsports in an interview, the Olympian said the unpleasant memories of the last World Cup are still fresh in the minds of most Nigerians and that only a convincing victory today will put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

“Anything short of a convincing victory against the Madagascar on Sunday (today) will not be acceptable to Nigerian football fans, many of who have lost confidence in the senior national team.

“The poor outing of the Eagles in South Africa left many Nigerians disappointed and if there in any opportunity for the Eagles to say sorry to their teaming fans, it is now. Against Madagascar, I want to see Eagles that show lots of promise, confidence, hunger and determination to succeed.

 “On Sunday, we want to see a team that plays well and wins well. Even, if it is by just one goal, they should give us a beautiful display that will make us to be proud of them. But, a 3-0 score line or more will be more acceptable,” Dosu said.

He, however, advised Eguavoen and his boys not to underrate the strength of their opposition, saying football nowadays is full of surprises and that if the Eagles consider the South African team as minnows, it may be at their own peril.
