This is more so  for mothers  whose responsibility is it to do the washing.  Some do the laundry almost every day to reduce the burden.
Mrs. Adeniji Aderonke said the thought of how she will get home and wash the children’s school uniform and some other wears gives her concern because she will still do the cooking.
 “I close from the office around 4.00p.m. and I do not like to pile clothes down for the weekend because that is even more dangerous since the weekend is the time to tidy up most things. I wash my children’s clothes everyday so that the stress will not be too much since I do not have house helps.” she said.
However,  with the aid of washing machine the work is made easy. The washing machine comes in different sizes, for commercial and home use. But she said there are lots of thing to consider when you talk of washing machine.
“In my area there is no regular supply of water and the epileptic power supply is another issue to consider. These are some of the infrastructure that can motivate one to buy the machine.”
But the use of laundry machine has been able to remove the enormous task associated with washing dirty clothes at ease.
Amina Saliu said the thought of how she will go about her laundry has been reduced since she has started using her washing machine.
“I make sure I wash clothes no matter how small any time there is power supply and that helps reduce my work. Though there are some thick ones that I still wash with hands but the work is reduced,” she said.
Most machines have preset wash programmes, such as “gentle wash” for delicate clothes, and water level options.
To use the machine effectively and ensure that it lasts the instruction has to be strictly followed. It is important to purchase detergents specially formulated for the washers to get good results. Some of the detergents are quick-dispersing. Using a traditional detergent will result in too many bubbles that will prevent the tumbling action needed for cleaning. Some of these detergents hold soil in suspension so it is not re-deposited onto clean clothes even in the low volume of water.
Clothes may seem dryer when removed from  the machine because more water is removed. This will save energy during the drying cycle.
The use of the machines is faster, quicker and less stressful and many have find solace in it.
