Uromi Like Minds Initiative (ULMI), an Edo-based group, has donated foodstuff, medical supplies, personal hygiene materials, and financial aid to orphanages and elderly homes in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Presenting the items , ULMI’s chairman, welfare committee, Sylvester Ezehi, said the gesture, which has been on in the last five years, is aimed at bringing hope and relief to the underprivileged in the society.
“Our mission is bring smiles to the faces of the needy, the forgotten, and the less privilege in our community. It is a course we have embraced and we are committed to sustaining it,” he said.
On his part, the ULIMI’s executive chairman, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, called for unity and collective responsibility in rebuilding the area especially at a time when Uromi grapples with security challenges and negative portrayal.

“The Easter season reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice, In that same spirit of selflessness and love, we have to extend a hand of kindness to those who are disadvantaged,” he said.
He noted that sons and daughters of Uromi, at home and in diaspora, have a moral obligation to change the prevailing narrative about Uromi, blessed with an illustrious heritage and a legacy of greatness.
He said the group is not only humanitarian in nature but also serves as a platform for promoting hope and restoring dignity to those in need while projecting positive image of Uromi to the wider world.
He however called on well-meaning indigene of Uromi, to join hands with the group and contribute to the transformation of the area and also helping those in need.
