The event, which will feature a drama presentation written by one of the students, a graduate of  a writing workshop organised by the two residents Kenechukwu Obi and Charles Oluyori  as well as readings from the works of the two residents. There will also be an interactive session between the residents and journalists.

The occasion will be chaired by Professor Dele Layiwola, Director of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan. He will be supported by other notable writers, Community leaders, Parents and other Literary enthusiasts.

The works of the residents will be forwarded to a notable a notable publishing firm for publication considerations.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Ken Obi has won a poetry prize organised by a US based NGO, Niger Delta Restoration of Hope. The winning poem , The Evergreen written during the residency, will be read during the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the death of the social activist, Ken Saro Wiwa in the US and other countries on November 10 2010.

The Ebedi International Residency Programme is an initiative designed to provide a conducive environment for writers with ongoing works which they need to complete.The next batch of residents will be accepted in January 2011.
