Ebhojiaye, Yarma, 5 others to conduct National Sports Federations elections

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has constituted a seven-man committee to conduct the forthcoming elections into the national sports federations.

According to the statement from the NSC, Dr. Simon Ebhojiaye, will chair the committee with Barrister Samson Ebomhe as vice-chairman.

The NSC has said the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting credible elections across all participating sports federations.

Other members of the committee are the pioneer Chairman of the Gombe Sports Commission, Malam Farouk Yarma, Mr. Lawal Adeoye Waheed, Hon. Tunde Popoola, Barr. Maryam Orotope Paul, with Mrs. Rita Mosindi, as secretary of the electoral committee.

The Committee will announce the election timetable and oversee all processes leading to and including the conduct of the elections.

Reacting to his appointment as a member of the electoral committee, Yarma, a former Gombe State Commissioner of sports said it is an opportunity for him to render another selfless and meritorious service to his country.

He also expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.

Yarma, therefore, called on the sports fraternity in Nigeria to cooperate with the committee to conduct elections that would produce the best hands to help reposition Nigerian sports.

“My appointment by the leadership of the NSC into this very important committee is a rare privilege and a calling to national service.

“By the special grace of God, I will use my experience in sports administration to add value to this important national assignment,” said the proprietor of FC Yarmalight.
