Chairman of the committee, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Qabasiyyu, who is also the permanent secretary, ministry of Health, said Ebola is a deadly and communicable disease that originated from a river called River Ebola in Congo Republic.
He explained that one could get infected with the disease through body contact with infected persons, and consumption of bush meat, while the symptoms include; high fever, vomiting and bleeding from human openings.
Speaking earlier, the representative of the Rector, Malam Hassan Muhammad, urged the students to make good use of the information heard.
On his part, the Students Affairs Officer of the institution, Malam Iro Lawal Galadanchi, called on the students and staff to stick to all preventive measures mentioned by experts to prevent contaminating the virus.
