The Ebonyi State Elders’ Council yesterday presented Governor David Umahi for the 2023 presidential contest.
The group, however, acknowledged that a former Senate president and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, is also in the race but that he is yet to consult them.
The chairman of the council, Engr. Benjamin Okah, made this known at a press conference held at the old government house, Abakaliki on Tuesday. Okah explained that Umahi is the most suited to lead Nigeria in 2023.
He cited the achievements made by the governor within six years in office and his gospel of one Nigeria.
The chairman stated that the elders will soon start consultations with other stakeholders in the country to realize the project in 2023.
