The Chief Missioner of the Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting government efforts aimed at revamping the economy.

He also called on the government to ensure that reports of economic improvement translate into better living conditions for citizens, especially through improved access to food and increased household income.

Onike made the call in his Eid al-Kabir message released on Tuesday.

Quoting Qur’an 39:53, he said: “Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

The cleric urged Nigerians to take solace in the belief that Allah loves Nigeria and its people and would soon deliver the country from poverty by blessing the ongoing government’s efforts.

He further encouraged citizens to remain united and uphold righteousness in their dealings with one another.

Citing Qur’an 5:2, Onike said: “Help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.”

He also prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the administration continues to pursue economic reforms and national development initiatives.
