Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki on Friday rewarded athletes from the state, who won medals during the just concluded National Sports Festival (NSF).

Team Edo came second in the overall medals table after it won 130 medals during the festival hosted by the state.

Obaseki announced the cash reward during a dinner party organised by the state government to celebrate the athletes in Benin

The governor also announced the sum of N250,000 each for athletes who won gold, the sum of N150,000 for those who won silver and N100,000 for those who won bronze medals

Obaseki thanked the team for making the state proud and advised them to continue to train so as to perform better in the National Sports Festival to be hosted in Asaba, Delta State, next year.
