The Edo State House of Assembly has suspended the member representing Esan South-East, Sunny Ojiezele (PDP), for three months over acts inciting disunity among members.

Announcing the suspension yesterday during plenary, the speaker of the house, Blessing Agbebaku, directed the Sergeant- at-Arms to walk the two-term lawmaker out of the hallowed chambers.

The speaker, however, didn’t explain on the floor of the house, how the suspended member incited disunity among the assembly members.

Efforts by the member representing Egor constituency, Natasha Osawaru and Idiaye Yekini, representing Akoko II constituency to intervene were rebuffed by the speaker.

Meanwhile, the house has approved Governor Godwin Obaseki’s request to procure 50 CNG buses for the Edo City Transport Services (ECTS). It also approved Obaseki’s request to access N2.2 billion agricultural palliative loan with a repayment plan of N94.3 million within a period of 24 months.
