More than half of the public primary schools in Edo State have adopted digitalisation in all their activities, Governor Godwin Obaseki has said.

The governor said 75 per cent of primary schools had deployed digital teaching tools under the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo-BEST) programme despite paucity of funds, and added that more furniture would be provided.

“We have ordered 25,000 chairs for our pupils; school furniture is being made locally at the Government Science and Technical College (GSTC), and others will come from the Edo Production Centre.

Gov. Obaseki, who was inspecting schools in Benin City, said government would obtain counterpart grant from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to revamp basic education and that hopefully, more schools would benefit from the ongoing reforms implemented through the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
