The Edo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says it has deployed mobile court to the road with a view to curb the rising tide of crashes.
Addressing journalists during the United Nation Safety Week, the Sector Head of Operation, Ben Akunhe, said the deployment was part of activities commemorating the United Nation global road safety to instil sanity of the road.
He noted that in 2010, the UN Assembly came out with a resolution that the world/nations should key into the programme so that the rising tide of road crashes should be cut down, especially as it affects fatalities and injuries recorded world wide.
“We deployed mobile court to the road to apprehend most of the driver that are disobeying traffic rules and regulations, not adhering to the strict rule of driving, driving against traffic, especially at Ramat Park and other areas”

He said erring drivers would be tried by the court and fined accordingly, noting that “it would serve as deterrent to others”.
