The Edo State Government has partnered three property developers for the construction of 454 housing units in Uhunmwonde, Ekpoma and Benin City.
The managing director, Edo State Development and Property Corporation (ESDPC), John Zedomi, disclosed this in Benin while speaking on the efforts of the state government to bridge the housing deficit in the state
He listed the property developers for the construction of housing units to include, Orange Estate Land Developers Nigeria Limited, Indigenous Real Estate Developer and Median Infrastructure Development Limited.
He said Orange Estate Land Developers Nigeria Limited will be developing 108 blocks of flats at Iguovbiobo, along Benin-Auchi road in Uhunmwonde LGA.
He added that an indigenous real estate developer will build 300 affordable housing units along the Ekpoma-Irrua road in Esan West LGA.
According to him, Median Infrastructure Development Limited will construct 46 luxury apartments at Golfview Heights in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin City.
He said the joint venture development agreement with Median Infrastructure Development Ltd for the construction of luxury apartments was due to the successful Golf Mews project which was oversubscribed.
He said the other housing projects at Iguovbiobo and along the Ekpoma-Irrua road respectively would serve as an opportunity for the people to own houses.
He explained that the project is expected to commence this September and that it is capable of transforming communities and enhancing the quality of life of the citizenry.
