The Chairman of PDP National Campaign Council for Edo governorship election and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has said what will determine who emerges winner of the September 19 election is the character and personality of the contestants.
Wike, who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday, said the days are gone when the character and personality of those that aspire to occupy leadership positions were not taken into consideration.
He said Edo State governorship election will be a personality and character contest between Governor Godwin Obaseki of PDP and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of APC, adding that is what will determine who wins the election between the two key contestants.
“Character must be one factor Nigerians should consider before they vote for any candidate. Character and personality should be an issue in our elections. Character must play a role in any election. Nobody should say that character should not be an issue,”he said.
