The Vice Chancellor, Edo University Iyamho, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, has disclosed that the institution has been included in the list of tertiary institutions that are to benefit from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) grants.
Speaking with journalists at Iyamho, Aluyor said the inclusion was announced by the fund’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro, represented by Barrister Ifiok Ukim, Director, Strategic Planning and Development, at a brief ceremony in Abuja.
He said the university would be obtaining annual interventions from the fund to provide critical infrastructure for its staff and students.
Prof. Aluyor noted that with the grant, the university was looking forward to building more facilities where lectures are delivered in temperature-controlled classrooms/lecture theatres with cutting edge multimedia facilities
“With this TETFund enlistment of our university, we are poised to take delivery of a full package of the latest technologies, in the field of medicine, science as well as other related courses, in becoming the beacon of academic excellence globally,” he said.
Aluyor said the university hopes to increase its contribution in putting research works in the public domain.
