The Chairman of Hijrah Organisation of Nigeria, Prof Lanre Yusuf Badmas, has called on President Bola Tinubu to extend his anti-corruption searchlight to other ministries and ministers who might not have learned their lessons from the Betta Edu saga.
He said the call has become imperative as some ministers and appointees might still see their appointments as business as usual despite what happened to the suspended minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation.
Badmas, a professor of Islamic Studies, who disclosed this at the weekend in Ilọrin, noted that “The extension of investigation into appointees of government and those who perceive public funds as business as usual, may reveal many others who are enmeshed in corrupt practices”.
He noted that it was pathetic that the country has continued to face setbacks over the years due to the disposition of public officeholders who see positions as avenues to enrich themselves at the expense of the masses.

He cautioned against treating officeholders found culpable of corruption as sacred cows, saying such body language would not augur well for the country.
