Chairman, LearnAfrica Plc Chief Emeke Iwerebon has appealed to Federal Government to increase funding to education sector to address challenges confronting the sector.
In a statement issued by the publishing firm, Iwerebon said whereas the result of the June/July 2016 was National Examinations Council (NECO) was inspiring the government still needs to increase funding to the education sector.
According to Iwerebon, it is most gratifying to note that 88.51 percent of the candidates got credit passes in at least five subjects, including Mathematics and English Language. He said this is an improvement in the general performance in the results when compared with those of 2015.
The Foundation has concluded plans to reward best grade students across the country. The awards recognise the top-three candidates at the June/July Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE) conducted by the NECO at the national level and in every state of the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
