Imoke said government was all out to reverse the situation when he signed a partnership agreement with Highbury College, Portsmouth, United Kingdom, to design a demand-driven curriculum for the proposed state polytechnic.
The polytechnic is to be sited in Ugep, and is billed to take-off in October 2013.
Imoke explained that the curriculum would ensure that graduates of the polytechnic are employable.
He said the state was partnering with the college because it is the best vocational institution in the United Kingdom.
He described as unacceptable, a situation where Nigerian universities churn out graduates, who are unemployable, stressing that the presence of a polytechnic in the state would make a difference.
According to him, his government will not compromise on merit when appointing principal officers of the institution as that will help to revamp the education sector.
The Principal Highbury College, Portsmouth UK, Mrs. Stella Mbubaegbu CBE, said the curriculum of the polytechnic will be designed to intertwine technical and vocation education training to boost entrepreneurship development.
