Federal Government would spend over N3.7 billion on workers’ salaries and wages of the Ministry of Education in 2018.

This was indicated in the 2018 proposed budget presented by the President Muhammadu Buhari to the joint session of the National Assembly recently. The copy of the proposed budget showed that the ministry would spend N466 million allowances and social contributions.

According to it, over N126 million was earmarked for local travels and training while over N13 million would be spent on international trips. The sum of N6.1million would be spent on internet access charges while N28.7 million would be spent on water rate. 

In all, the sum N605.7 billion would be spent by the ministry out of which N61.7 billion was set aside as capital expenditure and N544 billion as recurrent expenditure.
