A technology innovation firm, EduTAMS has unveiled its office space in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, and announced a N25 million grant for tech startups in the state.

The founder and CEO of EduTAMS, Ademola Adenubi, gave the hint during the official opening of EduTAMS iHub in Ijebu-Ode.

Adenubi said EduTAMS iHub is an innovation centre that connects young people to create and develop ideas towards providing technological based solutions to the challenges in the Nigeria education system.

He explained that the grant would help in creating more innovative solutions to drive the digital transformation in education.

Adenubi lamented Nigeria still ranks below in the league of countries who have digitalised their education system with just 10 percent of Nigerian public and private schools using technology to drive education services and delivery.

He said “What we are trying to do is that we know there is a need for more innovative solutions to drive the digital transformation in education and part of our core value is to collaborate with other founders and startups to deliver all round value to the education system.

“So we are looking for new innovations, new startups to work with and we are saying yes we would provide that grant facility, make it available to any new ideas that work in line with our vision. So that that fund will allow those founders to build innovative solutions that we can work with.”

He explained that aside from the grant, the EduTams iHub incubation center would be made available to at least five startups to enable them work efficiently and comfortably.

Speaking on the impacts of the EduTAMS services on Ogun education sector, Adenubi stated that over 1.5 million students have been assigned unique Learner Identification Numbers to monitor their profiles, more than 2,000 teachers have created online lesson notes, over 2 million students have online access to their results, and both public and private school systems offer simple methods for inter-school transfer and placement.

The President of Ogun Tech Community, Adekunle Durosinmi lauded the innovation and assured EduTAMS of its full support.
