EFFC agents arrested Lamido and his sons – Aminu and Mustapha – in Abuja yesterday.
EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren told Daily Trust on phone yesterday that the Commission rearrested Lamido and his sons over corruption charges.
Uwujaren said they were likely to be arraigned in court today in Kano. 
They are expected to be arraigned over alleged financial misappropriation amounting to billions of naira.
Earlier in the day a source in the EFCC said the former governor and his sons would be arraigned at a Federal High Court in Kano today
“Yes they are with us and they are being flown to Kano enroute Dutse, the Jigawa state capital but they missed their flight.
“They are still on their way and, in fact, my colleagues are already at the airport waiting to receive them,” it said.
The source added that the former governor and his children would remain in EFCC custody in Kano.
“We have perfected and made all necessary arrangement for their accommodation and feeding  in Kano but after that we will take  them to Dutse for them to be arraigned in Court,” it said.
It added that lawyers were putting finishing touches to the case files of the governor and his children.
“But if they, (our lawyers) did not finish perfecting the case files of the former governor and his children we may postpone his arraignment,” it said.
Aminu and Mustapha were first arrested in November 2013 in Kano over N10bn fraud and flown to Abuja.
Lamido flew out of the country shortly before the swearing-in of his successor in May, this year.
On his return the former governor on June 15 submitted himself at the Abuja head offices of the EFCC.
Commission spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said at the time that Lamido was questioned by operatives of the EFCC over allegations of financial crimes.
Uwujaren said Lamido was quizzed over his involvement in the award of contracts to companies which were connected to his family members, when he was Jigawa state governor.
He said the sons of the former governor were arrested last year over alleged pilfering of the state government funds and laundering same through their company accounts.
