EFCC arrests 2 brothers, 6 other suspected internet criminals
Akinrinmade Adepoju Sunday and his brother Akinrinmade Adeniyi were arrested in their room and parlor apartment.
The Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Thursday arrested eight men suspected to be internet fraudsters in Osogbo, Osun State.
The suspects Akinrinmade Adepoju Sunday and his brother Akinrinmade Adeniyi were arrested in their room and parlor apartment.
Also arrested were Dennis Oluwamuyiwa, Oni Oluwaseyi, Adeyemo Adeyinka, Aborisade Abayomi, Goodluck Olatayo, and Gbolahan Sodiq.
The spokesman of the commission, Wilson Iwujare, told journalists in Ibadan yesterday that they were arrested during an early morning raid on their hideout at Ayegbami area of the ancient town.
The operatives at the zone had for days kept surveillance on activities around the spots after receiving intelligence alleging illegal use of the internet for criminal acts.
Items recovered from the suspects include two cars, laptops and phones,
They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
