Former governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Sule Lamido and his two sons facing corruption charges have arrived Kano ahead of their arraignment in court on Thursday, Daily Trust learnt.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had prepared to arraign father and sons on Wednesday but postponed it till Thursday after the accused missed their flight.

A source confirmed to Daily Trust that they finally arrived the Amina Kano International Airport Kano at about 12:45 pm on Wednesday.

The governor and his two sons were supposed to be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Kano over alleged financial misappropriation amounting to billions of naira.

Earlier on Wednesday, at about 9.am, operatives of the EFCC arrived the Court which is located along court road in two coaster buses.

The Legal director of the commission, Chile Okoroma who spoke to newsmen at the Court said it has been postponed till tomorrow.

In interview with our correspondent a senior registrar at the court said the commission has filed the case against the governor on Tuesday.

“Yes they filed the case yesterday but we cannot give you the file because it has not been heard in the Court but definitely the former governor’s and his sons case is here with us. They will be arraigned either later in the day or tomorrow,” he said.
