Egg Day: Farm distribute 3,000 eggs to public schools

A poultry farm, AIT Integrated Farms, said it has distributed 3,000 eggs free to four public primary schools in Gombe metropolis, to mark the 2022 World Egg Day.

The proprietor of the farm, Abubakar Inuwa Tata, who disclosed this, said the farm commemorate the special day by distributing the eggs free to pupils in order to promote the nutritional and environmental benefits of eating eggs at the grassroots.

He added that the distribution was part of his farm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), to give back to the society no matter how little, “using market-based approach to social intervention.”

Tata described the theme of this year’s celebration, ‘Eggs for a better life,’ as apt “considering the nutritional and environmental benefits of eggs, which improves lives worldwide.”

According to him, egg is the most affordable source of nutrients in Nigeria compared to other substitutes in terms of nutritional value.
