Al-Azhar University, Cairo, has offered scholarships to 10n displaced children from Gwoza, Borno State, for undergraduate courses at the institution.
Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, disclosed this yesterday when he led a delegation from the institution to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Durumi, Abuja.
“Ten Al-Azhar scholarships will be granted to the children in the camp to study at the Al-Azhar. Five for boys and five for girls,” the grand imam said. El-Tayeb also announced the donation of relief items to the displaced persons.
