Ehiosun won’t disappoint, says Wolves coach

The fleet footed Warri Wolves attacker who scored on his debut against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone is one of the two Home based Super Eagles invited to vie for a shirt in the team that will take on Ethiopia in 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifying match slated for the Abuja National Stadium.

The other home based player invited is Heartland’s defender, Chibuzor Okonkwo.

Speaking to Trustsports yesterday on phone, the coach of Warri Wolves said Ehiosun has a lot to offer the country and if given an opportunity, he will not disappoint.

He said the performance of the striker in the friendly match against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone is enough to prove that he can mix with the bigger boys in the team.

Aigbogun said Ehiosun scored a brilliant goal on his debut for the country and so he is not surprised that the coach has deemed it necessary to invite him for the important match against Ethiopia.

According to him, the competition for shirts in the team will be fierce but if his player steps up his game, he will stand a chance of picking a shirt ahead of some of the established strikers in the team.

“I have just heard about Ehiosun’s invitation. I am not surprised because he has proved that he deserves to be part of the team. He is talented and if given an opportunity, he will not disappoint Nigerian fans.

“He used his performance against Leone Stars to convince that he is a player who has a lot to offer the team. He scored one of the goals that gave the team victory and if scoring is the yardstick to measure the performance of a striker, he was able to justify his inclusion in the team”.

Aigbogun said the striker still has a lot to learn but maintained that he is one of the best strikers in the domestic league and should be given enough opportunity to prove himself.

“Ehiosun is not yet a finished product but nobody can doubt his ability. He is one of the best players in the local league and should be given enough chance to prove himself”, he stated.
