Eid-el-Kabir: Christian clerics felicitate with Muslims, urge prayers

As Muslims all over the world celebrate Sallah today, Christian leaders have congratulated Nigerian Muslims and urged them to pray for the country.

They equally urged Muslims to remember to share their foods stuff with the internally displaced persons (IDPs) at various camps, prison inmates, destitute and almajirai in the spirit of the celebration.

The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha in Kaduna, Pastor Yohanna Buru, in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday also called on wealthy individuals and Islamic organiation to assist the poor with food items so as to make them happy like every other Muslim.

He added, "It is really important to assist the needy especially the poor with food to eat during a season like this."

Buru, who spoke on behalf of all pastors, reverend, evangelists and the entire members of his ministry, wished Muslims all over the world a happy Sallah.

He called on parents to watch over the movements of their children to avert incidences of missing cases during the festivity.

Buru said, "The church is planning as always to cook food and distribute to hundreds of poor Muslims, so as to support them and celebrate the Sallah in a happiness mood."

Similarly, Reverend David Abaya and Evangelist Jonathan appealed to wealthy individuals, philanthropists and governments to donate food to destitute, almajirai, IDPs and other poor individuals for Allah’s blessings.
