As part of efforts to ensure a safe and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna Sector Command, has announced the deployment of 1,593 personnel and comprehensive logistics across the state.
The deployment, under the special operation codenamed “Operation Eid-el-Kabir”, will run from June 5th to 11th, 2025. It aligns with the Corps’ 2025 strategic goal of achieving a 5% reduction in road traffic deaths and injuries.
The personnel include 262 officers, 930 marshals, and 401 special marshals.
They will be supported by 32 patrol vehicles, 11 ambulances, 2 heavy-duty tow trucks, and 3 patrol bikes strategically positioned along key routes in the state.
Sector Commander, Tijjani Iliyasu, emphasized that the initiative aims to address common traffic violations and road crashes typically associated with festive periods.
“This intensive patrol is targeted at tackling the usual spike in avoidable road crashes due to increased human and vehicular traffic during festivities,” Iliyasu said. “The operation will involve high-visibility patrols, mobile courts, prompt rescue services, removal of obstructions, and strict enforcement of traffic laws.”

The campaign will also focus on key offences such as excessive speeding, mixing passengers with livestock, lane indiscipline, use of phones while driving, tyre violations, illegal use of spy number plates, and unregistered vehicles. Night journeys and mechanically unfit vehicles will also be closely monitored.
Iliyasu urged road users to be extra vigilant, especially at known black spots and diversion points including Jere, Katari, Audu Jangwam, Audu Ogbe farms, Olam, and Kakau to Abuja junction.
“We appeal to the motoring public to cooperate with our personnel, obey traffic rules, and be mindful of road safety,” he added.
The Sector Commander also called on passengers to play an active role in safety by boarding vehicles only at government-designated parks and ensuring they are manifested.
“Commuters should not hesitate to speak out if they observe reckless driving. A subtle approach to caution drivers or reporting them to FRSC can save lives,” he advised.
