In Kaduna, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 5,000 personnel to bolster security across the state’s 23 council areas.
Corps Commandant Ilelaboye Waidi Oyejide said they will comb all black spots with a view to arresting suspects involved in criminality and acts that will threaten peace enjoyed in the state while he called on residents especially those residing in areas suspected to be flash points to ensure vigilance and report suspected persons and acts for swift attention.
“It is a fact that the perpetrators of dastardly acts are not ghost but people living among us, as such, they must be exposed for peace to reign,” he said while he urged inhabitants of those communities where the criminals reside and operate to expose them by reporting to security agencies for appropriate action.
This call according to him has become necessary in view of some security threats including activities of hoodlums, kidnapping, armed robbery, rustling and insurgency among others bedeviling the state in spite of measures put in place to checkmate insecurity.
He therefore advised residents of the state to avoid movement in black spots and at odd hours which may expose them to attack while he further urged parents to monitor the movement and activities of their children and wards to prevent them from being harmed or lured into indulging in nefarious acts.
“No one should be scared in obliging useful information to any office of the NSCDC in the state; all volunteers of information as well as information given shall be treated with utmost secrecy for the peace and development of the nation,” he assured.
