Akpabio prays for blessings, peace, prosperity
The president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated the Muslim faithful as they celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Akpabio, in a congratulatory message through his special adviser on media and publicity, Mr Eseme Eyiboh, admonished Muslims in Nigeria to emulate Prophet Muhammad’s life of peace, love and service to humanity.
On his part, the governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, called on the Muslim faithful in the state to reflect deeply on the timeless virtues and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a goodwill message to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, Governor Yahaya emphasised the importance of embodying the noble values of tolerance, humility, modesty and generosity, all of which were exemplified by the life of the Prophet.
Bauchi gov urges citizens to pray for peace, stability in Nigeria
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, in his message, called on the people of the state to offer prayers for a lasting peace and stability in the face of current security challenges
The governor, who made the plea in his goodwill message, described the celebration as a period of joy, spiritual reflection and a unique opportunity for Muslims to emulate the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
CAN urges payers to ease hardship
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has equally congratulated Muslims in the country on the celebration of Eid al-Maulud and called on political leaders to embrace justice and ease the economic hardship facing citizens.
In a statement signed by its president, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN noted that the occasion “offers all Nigerians a moment of reflection on the values of humility, compassion, justice and devotion to God, which the prophet exemplified.”
He added that such values “transcend religious boundaries and point us towards building a society anchored on peace, fairness and mutual respect.”
Okoh noted that Nigeria is at a “critical crossroad” marked by governance challenges, economic hardship and a deep yearning for credible leadership.
He urged leaders at all levels to “use this solemn season to embrace justice in their decisions, ease the burdens of hardship on citizens and foster policies that strengthen unity and uphold the dignity of every Nigerian.”
Emir of Zazzau leads procession
The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has led a procession to the Sarkin Ladanai Zazzau as part of historic tradition marking this year’s Eid El Maulud celebration.
This year’s Maulud is the 185th officially documented series of the event conducted in Zaria.
The emir, who rode on horseback, was accompanied by members from the emirate to pay homage to the prestigious Islamic scholar’s compound, the Sarkin Ladanai’s house.
The occasion marked the celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Prominent Islamic clerics offered prayers at the compound for enhanced security, peace and tranquillity in Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
