A 70-year-old commercial driver, Julius Ogunsemi and two others have been kidnapped in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.

They were said to have been kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday night while driving along Ikere-Igbara Odo Ekiti around 11am. Ogunsemi, who was driving a 10-passenger mini bus, had eight passengers when he was stopped by the gunmen.

A family source who identified himself as Toyin said yesterday that those was were in the bus confirmed that five men emerged from the bush and stopped them.

According to him, the kidnappers contacted the families of the victims on Thursday and requested for N5million ransom.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu, said he was yet to be briefed.
