Amotekun Corps still trying to find its footing in the state

Five suspected fraudsters have been arrested by the Amotekun Corp in Ekiti State for defrauding a victim to the tune of over N2.5 million.

The Amotekun Commandant, Brid Gen Joel Komolafe (Rtd), while parading the suspects: Johnson Olusola (44), Plufemi Sunday (52), Aloba Ojo

(28), Deji Ajayi (42) and Dayo Emmanuel (40), yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, said they were arrested in Ikere LGA.

He said the suspects were serial awo jingini (fraudsters) who duped people in the state popularly.

He explained that, “A colleague in Ogun State called me that a farmer, Udani James (40), who is from Benue State but resides at Ikere-Ekiti was duped N2.5m by a group and that they threatened to kill him.”

He further said his corps swung into action and, “Five of them were arrested in their shrine. We destroyed parts of the shrine and brought with us some of the things they use in deceiving people.”
