Ekiti disburses N1bn loans to workers since Fayose’s inception

Ekiti State government said it has disbursed over N1 billion as housing and vehicle loans to workers since the inception of the Governor Ayodele Fayose’s  administration.

The Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, Chief Abiodun Falayi, who made this known in Ado Ekiti in a statement yesterday,  said the government had also released another tranche of N190 million  as housing and vehicle loans to 750 teaching and non-teaching staff of public secondary schools in the state.

He said 468 workers got amount ranging from N100,000 to N300,000 depending on the beneficiary’s salary grade levels, from the tranche under the Lands/Housing Loan Scheme while another 283 personnel received between N80,000 to N750,000 as vehicle loans. This was also based on individual’s salary grade level.

Falayi assured that the exercise would be a continuous one in line with the commitment of the Fayose’s administration, adding that over 6,000 teaching and non-teaching staff of public schools in the state were recently promoted.

Falayi, who charged beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the loans, also stressed the need for workers to continually support the efforts of government to improve their welfare and develop the state.
