A 30-year-old man, Olawale Olatunde, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court for assaulting a policeman.

The prosecutor, Inspector Johnson Okunade, told the court Thursday that on February 2, 2021, the defendant at about 4.pm at Omisanjana area of Ado-Ekiti assaulted Corporal Olarewaju Samuel while performing his lawful duty; contrary to Section 356 (1) (2) (5) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barr Olayemi Olatunde, urged the court to grant his client bail.

Magistrate Titilayo Ogunsina granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to March 11, 2021.
