Former governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He polled 203,090 votes to defeat the incumbent governor Kayode Fayemi of APC who scored 120,433 votes.
According to the returning officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Professor Isaac Azuzu, “Ayodele Peter Fayose of PDP having certified the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
