Some old students of the Are/Afao Comprehensive High School (AACHS) Ado Ekiti are set for an inaugural reunion, 43 years after the school was established.

In a statement, the President of the AACHS Old Students’ Association, Alhaji Tiamiyu Hassan said the school’s 43rd Founder’s Day is the most auspicious time for the home-coming of the ex-students. He recounted with nostalgia how the first sets of students were ushered into the school on the 4th December 1978.

The statement issued by the Chairman of the 2021 Reunion Planning Committee of the Old Students’ Association, Yemi Akinbode, noted that the school has become a watershed for quality secondary education, stating that AACHS has become a community education model in the State.

“We must interact with ourselves to evaluate and realign our actions with new trends. We have now joined the league of Old Students’ Associations across the land, working assiduously to improve and reposition our alma mater. We are happy and excited at this development,” said Hassan.

The highlight of the events is the School Improvement Fund Raising and dance at the school premises today. It will be chaired by the Chairman, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Council of the State, Hon. Shina Ogunleye, also an ex-student of AACHS.

The President posited that AACHS has resolved to join hands with the school authorities and Parents- Teachers Association to help improve the quality of education and the welfare of students, particularly the indigent.
