Ekiti State government has approved N61million for the production of 12,000 reflective jackets and permits to all commercial motorcyclists and tricycle operators in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, told journalists that the approval of N61,181,818.18 is part of efforts to curb insecurity and standardise the operations of commercial motorcycles and tricycles.
According to him, “The reflective jackets and permits will be issued to aid law enforcement agencies in tracking and regulating operators, with a view to ensuring that only authorised individuals are allowed to operate in the state.”

Olatunbosun noted that the state government would conduct enumeration of all operators to develop a comprehensive database.
