A veteran journalist, Chief Femi Ajayi, has donated a multi-million naira library complex to Ekiti State government to further encourage reading culture among youths in the state.

The library was handed over yesterday to government officials after a tripartite agreement was signed by the donor, State Library Board, and Oye LGA.

Ajayi said the library has over 7,000 volumes of up-to-date books across all disciplines,”making it the biggest private public library in Ekiti State.”

He urged  the state government to ensure maximum maintenance of the complex and build more community-based private public libraries across the state.

The chairman of Oye Council Area, Mr Folusho Oso, assured maximum utilisation and sustainability of the library.
