Sudan’s Peace Government said it is working with Western partners to secure civilian protection measures in El Obeid.
“While welcoming this international engagement, the Peace Government reaffirms its readiness to continue coordinating and engaging with all international and regional partners, particularly the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the European Union,” the Council of Ministers said.
The goal, it said, is to reach “urgent and practical measures that ensure the protection of civilians and alleviate their suffering under the supervision of the international community and the African Union.”
The government also stressed coordination with “international, United Nations, and regional humanitarian organizations” to deliver aid.
The statement was signed by Khalid Danaa, Minister of Information and Official Spokesperson.
