Although, his inclination to revive Kaduna states’ educational sector, at primary school level continues to generate public outcry and protests, I beseech Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, not to abdicate in executing the task, vested on you, in order to bring sanity in all aspect of governmental affairs. In view of the fact, hitherto, we are still bearing the brunt of flagrant abused of processes and standard, inherited from the past governments, due to their apparent negligence on tackling the menace.

Of course, it was a very good move by the governor to take this tough decision, regardless of our conservative stance.

Therefore, I would make a clarion call to His Excellency, to implore him to kindly sympathize with the teachers, who were employed before the return of democracy in 1999! 

Because it was evident that the upsurge of quack teachers in our public primary schools became rampant, after the return of democracy, due to politicians overbearing influence on local council administration. Plainly, majority of the quacks and incompetent teachers were employed, in recognition of their efforts’ rendered to the politicians during electioneering: Rewarding them with the teaching job, without duly minding whether they are eligible or not. 

However, in the 90s, during the Military era, there was little sanity on the process of employing teachers, because we had sole administrators who were appointed to spearhead the affairs of local governments, whereby they have to comply with the directives given to them from the central authority. And there was minimal recruitment of quack teachers then. 

In truth, we shouldn’t continue mortgaging the future of our children under the shadow of ill-baked teachers. Doing so poses a grave danger, not even to our children, but to our nation at large.

Frankly, those illegitimately employed as teachers, should deserve facing the wrath of Law, beyond giving an axe.
